We aim to ensure entitlement and access for pupils with a Specific Learning Need to high quality education within a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum so that they can reach their full potential and enhance their self-esteem.
We support pupils with a Specific Learning Need, wherever possible, alongside their peers within the normal curriculum. Where required, individual or small group sessions are arranged. At all times we seek to involve parents and pupils in any identification, assessment and delivery of support, and strive for close co-operation between all parties to ensure effective implementation.
Parents are always advised to take up any suggestions of referral to an external professional, such as an Educational Psychologist so that the full nature of the difficulty is diagnosed and recommendations contained in the report can be implemented. Following this there will be frequent formal and informal contact with parents, and the necessary Individual Education Plans drawn up.
