The day the firemen came…went…and came back again!

The Lower One children welcomed our local firemen for a visit on Monday 8th March. We were all very excited when they arrived at half past 10. Sadly, they received an emergency call and had to leave again 10 minutes later! The children were disappointed but totally understood why they had to rush off.
Thankfully, they managed to return later that afternoon and talked to all of the children about many aspects of fire safety. We watched a video about staying away from matches, sorted pictures of good and bad fires, learnt what to do if clothing catches fire and how to leave your home safely if the smoke alarm goes off.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit but the highlight was definitely watching Mrs. Brotherhood dress up in one of the firemen’s outfits!
