Design and Technology
The principle aim is to teach children how to develop their ideas, both individually and in group activities. They are taught to become independent thinkers, developing skills and knowledge relating to a modern technological world. A structured programme of activities across the early years’ curriculum is carried out in the form rooms and prepares the way for future learning.
The Design and Technology suite comprises of a modern, purpose built, Technology workshop and a Control Technology room, where the Middle and Upper School girls are taught by a specialist teacher. The acquisition of skills is carefully built into a comprehensive series of projects and technological visits. In their final two years girls are introduced to control technology, electronic product design and robotics clubs.
