ICT

In this rapidly changing world it is vital that children become confident and competent users of the latest technology. In the early years there are computers in each classroom helping integrate ICT into everyday learning. There is also a well equipped ICT room specifically for the Lower School children.

Middle and Upper School girls have access to computers around the school and to the extensively equipped main ICT room, where they attend weekly timetabled lessons. Here they develop skills in data handling, word processing, desktop publishing, creating graphics, simulations and simple programming.

In Upper School the girls study computerised design as part of their Art and Technology programme. This is an unique opportunity for them to expand and consolidate their skills by working creatively in small groups and receiving individual attention.

The ICT room has a networked multi-media system, supported by sound recording equipment, digital cameras and scanners. All equipment is up-dated continually to keep technology, and the girls’ skills, at the forefront of educational needs. Controlled access to the Internet is available for cross curricular work and for communicating and researching information.
