Middle and Upper School
Middle One (7+), Middle Two (8+), Upper One (9+), Upper Two (10+)
At this stage, there are two forms of mixed ability in each year group. Each form is cared for by a Form Teacher who provides the girls with their focus and sense of belonging. However, to maximise learning potential, most teaching groups are smaller than form size and many are taught by specialist teachers.
Priority continues to be given to the basic skills, consolidating and building on the foundations laid in the early years. In the Upper School both Mathematics and English are taught in small ability groups to ensure that each girl progresses at the appropriate pace.
In addition to the fundamental skills, the girls receive specialist tuition in a wide variety of subjects, including Art and Design, Design and Technology, French, Information and Communication Technology, Music, Physical Education and Science.
When children start at the school they are allocated to one of four Houses. In the Nursery and Lower School the House colours are use informally. In the Middle and Upper School, House points are awarded to the individual girl for effort and achievement in all aspects of school life.
