Physical Education

The aim is that every child should enjoy physical exercise, not only those with obvious sporting talents. All children are involved in a well-balanced programme of games, gymnastics and dance in order to develop both movement skills and personal qualities such as self-confidence, control and team work with others. The children also learn the importance of physical exercise for a healthy lifestyle.

In the Middle and Upper School, netball and hockey are the winter games which are then replaced with athletics, rounders, tennis and short tennis during the summer months. There is a full fixture list which includes local and national tournaments.

We are fortunate to have on-site access to excellent sporting facilities, including extensive playing fields, netball/tennis courts, a gymnasium/hall, and all-weather surfaces. The large sports hall beside the school, which we share with King's High, allows us to take part in a wide variety of sporting activities, no matter what the weather.

We also make use of the swimming pools at Warwick School and St Nicholas Park so that all children from Lower One upwards are offered the opportunity to learn to  swim through an experienced team of qualified coaches.
