Celebrating 80 Years of Warwick Prep!
Today we are celebrating Warwick Preparatory School’s 80th birthday!
Our school community gathered to celebrate our 80th birthday with a celebratory assembly, birthday cake, and a special afternoon tea. Current pupils, staff, ex-Squirrels (former pupils!), grandparents, and friends joined us for a joyful afternoon of conversation and reflection. It was especially moving to welcome guests born in 1945, the very year the school was founded, and to share stories across the generations.
When the school first opened in 1945, the world was still recovering from the Second World War. Classrooms were simple, resources were scarce, yet the vision was clear: education would help build a brighter future. From those early days of chalkboards and rationing to today’s digital classrooms, the school has continually evolved while remaining true to its mission of nurturing curiosity, character, and kindness.
As we celebrated together, it was striking how much has changed in education and yet how much remains the same. Dedicated staff, the joy of learning, and the friendships forged here continue to define school life. Our 80th birthday was not only a chance to look back with gratitude but also to look forward with optimism to the generations still to come.
