Bringing Books to Life on World Book Day
The pupils had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day, bringing to life characters from their favourite books and representing one of the skills from our Skills for Life wheel.
The theme celebrated reading for pleasure while also highlighting the wonderful life skills that stories help children develop, such as kindness, creativity, resilience and teamwork.
We saw many fantastic outfits, including creative homemade costumes and others reused from home with sustainability in mind. Pupils loved sharing their character choices with friends and teachers.

From Sophie from The BFG (Independence and Resilience) to Elmer the Elephant (Innovation and Creativity), Paddington Bear (Compassion and Empathy) and Percy the Park Keeper (Critical Thinking and Problem-solving), our whole school was filled with the magic and joy of reading.
Pupils also enjoyed cross-curricular activities, including a Maths challenge that required them to use their critical thinking skills to unlock the door to the Library!
Thank you for helping make the day such a joyful celebration of reading.
