Celebrating World Bee Day at Forest School

To celebrate World Bee Day, the Reception children made their own fir cone bees by wrapping yellow wool around the cones to create stripes, before adding googly eyes and wings.
The children learnt about the importance of bees, how they pollinate flowering plants and how they are essential to the food we eat.
Children in The Squirrels Nursery made bee pools. They decorated flowerpots, then placed a saucer filled with small stones and water on top of the upturned pot. This allows bees to land safely and quench their thirst.
