Drama

Tell me and I will forget.  Show me and I will remember.  Involve me and I will understand.

Experience of theatre and the skills developed through improvised and scripted performance, help to enrich our pupils' creativity and confidence.  Our aim is that all our children have regular opportunities to take part in rewarding and challenging productions, whilst developing their public speaking and presentation skills.

In the Pre-Prep department, teachers integrate drama improvisation and role-play into the learning process from the earliest days.  Each year group has the opportunity to perform in their own Christmas concerts.  At the end of Year 2, the children perform their own spectacular end of year musical, which is always a really special occasion.  Year 2 children also have the opportunity to take part in a lunchtime drama club which is run by sixth formers from Warwick School.

In the Prep department the girls have a timetabled drama lesson and there are many further opportunities for Drama within the curriculum including visiting artists, form assemblies and productions, Christmas celebrations, and the Year 6 musical production.  There are also many cross curricular links including our famous annual French Nativity Play!

Children are also given the opportunity to participate in drama clubs and musical theatre clubs after school and at lunchtimes.
