'A Minute a Day' Art Challenge

Celebrate our return to school through the power of Art, for just  ‘a minute A day’.

Pick up your pencils, wash your brushes, blow the dust off your chalks, wipe the lens on your camera!

Using any media, you wish, we would like you to create a piece of art by working on it for just ‘A Minute A Day’.

These are some ideas, you could create:

  • A ‘large’ image pre-drawn that you develop for a minute a day.
  • A ‘flicker book’ using a small notebook/stack of pages: every day for a minute draw an image, which is slightly altered each time. This becomes a flicker book at the end of the project.
  • A ‘sculpture’: start with a piece of modelling material. Form a shape in the first minute. Each day, spend a minute adding to the sculpture. This could be photographed at each stage resulting in a short ‘stop motion’ animation.
  • Or draw, paint, photograph, film, sculpt, ‘a minute’ from your day.

The project will culminate with an online exhibition.

The challenge is open to all members of our school community, including staff and parents. It will begin on Friday 26 March 2021 and finish on Friday 28 May 2021.

Email your finished masterpiece to Mrs Hemming,

We can't wait to see the finished pieces!
